Homecoming of the Andrée Expedition

In 1897, an expedition led by the engineer S. A. Andrée attempted to travel across the Arctic with the hydrogen balloon Örnen. Andrée and the other participants, Knut Frænkel and Nils Strindberg, perished during the expedition and their bodies were only found in 1930 on Vitön. This film shows when the gunboat 'Svensksund' brings the bodies home to Stockholm.
