Life at Brians: Lean and Hungry

Filmed for UK TV channel CH4. Brian McCaffrey a retired prize fighter running a cafe called ‘Brian’s’ in Liverpool, is interviewed, as well as other colourful characters, customers at the cafe'. Brian's, in the city centre on Stanley Street, hosted night gigs. Liverpool post-punk band Echo & the Bunnymen, which used to visit regularly, feature in some jams in between the interviews. In later years the cafe would become the location for the band to announce their return
