Seated Roots

A chair passed down from a grandmother becomes the thread that ties one generation to the next. Through this inherited object, Seated Roots follows people in Beirut and their relationship with the city they’ve been handed. This creative documentary takes an anthropological approach. It treats the chair as both a family heirloom and a witness, an ordinary object that holds the weight of a home, a lineage, and a city.
