Song of Eskasoni

Song of Eskasoni is a 1993 Canadian documentary film, directed by Brian Guns, that celebrates the Mi'kmaq poet Rita Joe and explores the Mi'kmaq culture and traditions of the Eskasoni First Nation in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. The film highlights the spiritual pride of the Mi'kmaq people, which is reflected in Rita Joe's poetry, and documents the revival of Indigenous traditions and spirituality in the village. The documentary also features some of Rita Joe's poems and songs.
